In Contact! About the Show...

English can be fun and challenging. And, with no doubt, it opens your mind to new ideas and ways to see the world.
In Contact! is a radio show aimed at people who are learning or want to practise English in a different way, all by means of information about the language and about the world. We’re meant to provide a different alternative of exposure to the language, also keeping in contact with our University community and motivating them to take the challenge to practice and see the language in a different way.
Every episode is related to a topic of general interest: you’ll enjoy sections about grammar, vocabulary and everyday expressions in the English language; we’ll also learn interesting facts from all around the world regarding the topic of the week; you’ll be introduced to music, films and other forms of entertainment in English that will enrich your learning experience; you’ll enjoy the different games and challenges for the participants in our programme; and the best part, you’ll be able to interact with others and participate in the programme – we’ll be delighted to have your voices in our show!
Take the challenge and have fun with English!

Meet the In Contact! Team

Hello! It’s Sandra Patricia Góngora in contact with you! I’ve been working as an English teacher for 11 years, 6 of these at Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores (yes, it feels like home!). I have to say that making radio is a totally new experience for me, but it’s been very enriching and enjoyable. I’ve loved every single bit of it, and I hope to keep in contact with all of you for longer! I also love listening to rock music in English, watching films (also in English), biking and playing with the two family babies: Tobby and Niko (our two beautiful puppies).  And just in case you’ve wondered: Yes, teacher Ana Milena and I are twins, and she’s my best friend as well!

Hi! I’m Ana Milena Góngora. I’m a teacher of English as a foreign language, an avid language learner, a devotee of my family, an animal lover and a total fan of music – Don’t make me sing, though! Other passions include biking, science and films. Of course there are many more things I’d love to learn and do: travel around the world, learn more languages, play a musical instrument, and do more research in language teaching.
I’m working on this wonderful project, in Contact, with my wonderful colleague, best friend, favorite teacher and twin sister, Patricia.  Previous experience on radio? Never! Do I like it? You bet!
